Hillsborough 24-Hour Water Conservation Request

VOORHEES, N.J. (July 23, 2012) – Beginning 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, New Jersey American Water will begin emergency repairs on a 60-inch water transmission main in Manville, NJ that distributes water to 18 municipalities in four counties. The company anticipates that repairs will last for 24 hours and asks that customers conserve and curtail outdoor water use until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25.
New Jersey American Water customers are asked to conserve water in [18] municipalities served by the water main, [including Hillsborough Township]
Plans to repair the main began last Thursday evening when a small leak was found on the transmission line. During repairs, New Jersey American Water will need to take the transmission main out of service. Capacity of the company’s water distribution system will be reduced; however, no impact to customers’ water service is anticipated.
